ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Rosa!
COMMITTED TO MODESTO

The moment I moved to Modesto, I knew that I wanted to become deeply invested in this community and do everything I could to support and improve the quality of life for my family and all families that call Modesto home. To that end, I have taken every opportunity to do just that. I want to continue putting my experience to work for the residents of District 1.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE

I was elected to serve on the Modesto City Council representing District 1 in 2020. Prior to that, I was appointed to the City of Modesto Cultural Commission in 2013 and the City of Modesto Planning Commission in 2014, where I was a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility and smart growth.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

I have over 25-years of experience in public policy and community engagement, including but not limited to being a court mediator who fostered consensus and built alliances with diverse communities and stakeholder groups. During my time in Sacramento, I worked in state government and served as a Gubernatorial Appointee under Governors Davis and Schwarzenegger, working as Director of Public Relations for the California State Lottery and the Director of Communications for the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Being involved in my community has always been a top priority to me. This includes being member of Stanislaus Latino Community Roundtable, member of Stanislaus Medical Society Alliance, chair of the American Heart Association’s Go Red Executive Committee, member of the Central Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Alumnus of American Leadership Forum among many other notable organizations.
FAMILY

My husband is an orthopedic surgeon here in Modesto and together we are raising our 4-year-old son, our 20-year-old son who has special needs, and our daughter.
